Cold Morning Trek to Kanasu Coffee Estate
I was up by 6 AM that day to see the morning view from our dorm room door. It was extremely cold so I wrapped my blanket around me before heading out. The view was worth getting off the bed that early with so many colours in the sky and the hills. With the fog making it just a moment you would cherish when you are at a hill station.
Waking Everyone Up
Not an easy task to get off the day on a cold morning, still, I woke everyone up. So we can go for the coffee estate trek behind the Kanasu Homestay. Till they woke up I started to backup my data of last day, which was showing almost 30 mins. They got ready and as there was about 5 mins left for it to finish. I told them to continue and that I will be joining them in some time or meet them directly at the main spot.
After my work was done, I grabbed my camera and headed towards the coffee estate. The path was below our dorm room, from where we had to take the right. Into this narrow path leading me into the estate, I walked alone as I didn’t see anyone there. It was confusing with so many ways to take you around those small coffee plantations. For this one time, I thought to myself that I am lost, as it was not much time when they left for the trek. As I went really deep with the plantations getting higher at this place, with more ways to enter I was getting confused.
The Dog Who Helped Me Find The Way
Later, I was accompanied by this dog who ran towards one of the gaps in the coffee plantations which I too followed. And called out the names of my friends who responded immediately and we all were together now. Thanks to my navigator who continued to be with us till we reached that point of the trek. Where it had this proper trail with marks of wheels, I think they used to bring the jeeps towards this place.
After the coffee plantations, we reached this place with the trees dried out and some leaves on their branches. We followed the path and reached the hill which we were dancing on in the rain. The hill behind us covered the sun rays to reach us making the walk a chilly one. And again the hills in front of us were lit by the sun rays, as you can see in the picture above.
We were hungry after the trek as going to the top of the coffee estate was the toughest part. And later it was just a walk towards the homestay in the total of about 3-4 km. With some coffee and quick snacks which we bought last day, we decided on what we wanted to do for the start the day.
So stay tuned for the next half of the day. Which drops tomorrow, 20th day 20th article, I have actually started to enjoy writing one of my experience every day. Feels like I am keeping a personal diary, wait not so personal diary haha. But yeah tomorrow is Day 21 they say you develop a habit doing something for this long let’s see if it continues. See you guys in the next one.
