Stay at a 4-Star Hotel for Free

If you are following my journey #OnTrailsWithHolidayIQ you would know that I won an all paid trip to explore the beauty of Ooty and Wayanad with OlaCabs and HolidayIQ. So this article is on my stay at a 4-Star Hotel for Free – Sinclairs Retreat Hotel Review. The hotel I am staying at has its branch in Darjeeling, Siliguri, Port Blair and many other places.

After visiting the Shooting point on our way to Ooty. We hopped into our OlaOutstation cab for the last 20kms of the day. Little tired I fell asleep in the backseat till we reached the place. It was located near the Tea and Chocolate Factory we visited on a New Year the first time I was in Ooty. After parking the car I just ran into the hotel reception as it was extremely cold outside and the view towards my right was already foggy.

As we entered we were served with some fresh juice while I finished the check-in formalities to get the keys to my room. That I will be staying for the next 2 days. We were informed on the timings the kitchen closes at night and till when the breakfast would be served. All done we headed towards our room to change and look around the place. I also have a video review of the place so check the below video –

The Room

The room had a large cosy bed, reading table, a sofa, LCD TV, tea zone, some water and the boiling kettle. A giant window to take a look at the beautiful view outside. Spacious wardrobe with many sections and a digital locker to safely store the expensive stuff you may carry. Clean bathroom with hairdryer, shampoo, brush if you forgot to carry like I mostly do :P.

Valley From the Garden

Outside the Hotel

After unpacking everything I just went out of the hotel to see what’s around. As you walk straight out from the reception area. You get an awesome view of the Ooty Valley with all the houses in a miniature with fog around felt as if we were above the clouds. A well-decorated garden in the right of the hotel with so many flowers. A walk everyone would love the flowers around and the mesmerizing view of the Ooty Valley. The chilly breeze out there also added to the beauty of this place. What a lovely location to build a hotel or house to stay.

Flowers in the Garden

Inside the Hotel

As you enter the hotel you can see the dining area which is accessible during the meal times. Some of the hotel staff were arranging the same for the dinner in some time as I walked towards it. I would suggest trying their fish dishes even if you are having the buffet which was really awesome. And the grand breakfast with so many options to choose from. A breakfast no one would want to miss as it felt like they have decorated the place with food all around. It also has a huge lobby for people to talk, with the garden view a huge conference/event room which we went during our buffet lunch the next day.

Game Zone and Gym

We headed towards the game zone on the 1st floor. They had a badminton court, table tennis and pool area for you to play. Also had gym equipment if you don’t wanna miss your daily workout enjoying the beauty of Ooty. A small library with books on the shelf. Indoor games like ludo, carom and chess. We heard that there was a PlayStation too but didn’t see it there except some Television Sets were hung on the wall. But the furniture in this area was stained out and not properly maintained and a weird smell was around the place. Hope they take care of this if I visit the next time.
